Barbara brings a diverse skill set with over 20 years management experience in life sciences, from basic and clinical research to market access. Prior to founding LIVV, she acted as COO of a market access company. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Ghent University. Barbara is also Visiting Professor Entrepreneurship at Ghent University.
As co-founder and CEO of Akcelis, she led a successful scale-up, spearheading cutting-edge digital tools and international expansion. Her expertise in strategic planning, operational efficiency, and digital transformation drives innovation across sectors.
Recognized as one of the top inspiring women in Belgian tech, Barbara’s dedication is evident in her impactful contributions to the field.
Nathalie Niclaus

Nathalie is a seasoned life sciences professional with over 20 years of experience spanning clinical research, market access, and strategic management in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout her career, she has excelled in various management roles, driving initiatives that require strong stakeholder engagement and efficient cross-functional collaboration.
As co-founder and CEO of Akcelis, Nathalie led the development of digital strategies for patient recruitment, advancing innovation in clinical research.
At Johnson & Johnson, she specialized in Market Access, where she developed strategies to ensure timely patient access to innovative therapies through early access and compassionate use programs.
